India Yamaha Motors is going to launch the second set on superbike sections. As Honda already revealed CBR1000RR Fireblade & CB1000R superbikes in India now it’s time for Yamaha to show its toughness. Featuring the same R1-based engine and aluminium chassis as the FZ1 Fazer, this muscular one-litre sports bike is built to deliver brutal class leading performance in the mid-range, combined with excllent day-to-day versatility.

And with radical new bodywork and compact dimensions, this stylish roadster has more street presence than anything else in the sports class. The FZ1 Fazer is bang up to date with current styling trends of sharp angles and aggressive looks. FZ1 Fazer offers levels of performance and looks that are set to become the industry standard in the large-capacity naked sports bike sector. A major target group for the new FZ1 Fazer are those supersport riders who are rediscovering the versatility and excitement of modern sports bikes.

Drastic changes in traffic environment in many European countries - including new speed limits and higher insurance costs - are already affecting many supersport riders' attitudes. Yamaha FZ1’s R1-based engine packs a mighty mid-range punch and that cast aluminium frame cuts its way through the curves like a supersport bike, so whatever’s street you are always in charge.

Yamaha FZ1 Fazer will get a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder, DOHC motor displaces 999cc and pumps out 148 Bhp of maximum power and 106 Nm of peak torque. Yamaha is believed to have sent the FZ1 Fazer for homologation in India. If Yamaha brings the FZ1 Fazer as SKD (Semi Knocked Down) kit instead of CKD, it would undercut the price of Honda CB1000R which is the cheapest imported litre-class bike.

Colours available in Yamaha FZ1 Fazer:

It is expected that Yamaha India is going to launch the FZ1 Fazer in a price range of 9-10 lakh rupees which seems to be very competitive considering the fact that it is a 1000cc sports bike.
